Volví a la vieja temática del doble CD, “On The Beach” e “In The Club”. El primer CD es perfecto si vas para Ibiza, si querés relajarte un poco en la playa y pasarla bien. Estoy muy orgulloso del primer CD, es como Café del Mar estilo Armin van Buuren, pongámoslo así. El segundo CD es trance europeo, alto y bien fuerte, que te pone en ánimo, con un remix exclusivo que hice para Faithless de “Not Going Home”, lo nuevo de Gaia, “Aisha”, y otros grandes artistas.
¡Qué genial remixar a Faithless! ¿Cómo se dio esta co-lab?
Faithless se acercó a mí, querían un remix de su nuevo single. Soy un gran fan. Rollo, Sister Bliss y Maxi Jazz son sorprendentes, los sigo desde Insomnia, hace muchos años, 1996, creo, y su nuevo disco es excelente, de verdad volvieron a sus raíces. Algunos tracks son divertidísimos de remixar. Algunas veces me mandan algo y digo: “Aaah, no, no lo siento.” Pero esto fue tan fácil de hacer, las voces son tan buenas, va y dice “Not Going Home”, lo atamos a un breakdown y ves cómo rockea la pista de baile. Es fatal.
También hay sangre fresca en “A State of Trance 2010”, nuevos artistas. ¿Cuáles deberíamos escuchar primero?
¡Hay tanto nuevo talento ahí afuera ahora mismo! Mat Zo es muy hábil, es un producer joven y muy fresco, y me pone muy orgulloso que lo vamos a destacar en el episodio 450 de mi programa de radio, que también se llama “A State of Trance”. Alexander puso una guitarra increíble, muy hermosa en el primer CD. Nielsen también aportó cosas buenísimas. Roger Shah está de vuelta, “Ancient World” es un track que explota, y está muy fuerte en mis sets. Sebastian Brandt es otro nuevo talento, es brillante. Hay un exclusivo de Simon Patterson, “Taxi”, y mucho, mucho más.

Ni hablar. Me encanta esto, desde 1991, cuando tuve mi primera Atari. Trato de usar los sonidos tal cual los uso en la pista. Por ejemplo, si tengo un nuevo sonido de bombo, si creo uno nuevo, sé que es bueno porque lo testeo. Pero no lo hago todo solo siempre. A veces masterizo mis tracks con alguien más para tener una mirada fresca sobre mi sonido. Pero al fin y al cabo, las decisiones finales son siempre mías. Ya tengo más de 21 canciones, es una lástima que sólo puedas poner 78 minutos de música en un CD. Y es realmente ambicioso esto que estoy preparando. Para el primer track grabé cuerdas y baterías en vivo. Mi hermano va a estar, es un gran guitarrista y me ayudó un montón para escribir melodías. mi programa de radio, es muy loco: le transmito a 27 millones de personas a través de todo el mundo con el Ableton en mi laptop, en mi cuarto de hotel, al lado del carrito donde me traen el room service. Empezó en 2001, muchos de mis colegas me decían que estaba loco, que cómo iba a hacer un programa de dos horas cada semana. Y mírenme ahora.
Se viene un tour importante.
Exacto. Voy a tocar mucho material de este nuevo “A State of Trance.” Y este año es de tour regular. Voy a volver a Ibiza, algo que me emociona mucho, también Rusia, y espero a volver a Argentina.
