Implica respeto y responsabilidad. Los desafíos son enormes, pero basicamente, ganarte la confianza de los artistas en primer término.
¿Qué los diferencia de las decenas de galerías que hay en Buenos Aires? ¿Qué ofrecen de nuevo?
Nos diferencia que la galería tiene un proyecto curatorial. Trabajamos con dibujantes, solo exhibimos dibujos de artistas, pero un dibujo aggiornado con los nuevos conceptos y los límites ampliados que implica hoy la palabra “dibujo.”
¿Qué hay para corregir en el mercado de arte en Argentina? ¿Qué hay que mejorar hoy en día?
Sería ideal tener un mercado de arte mucho más grande de lo que tenemos. Sería maravilloso que la gente entienda que comprar una obra de arte no es un lujo imposible de conseguir. Porque un artista que crece, avanza y se supera con su propio capital es un artista que tiene más y mejor tiempo de reflexionar y dedicarse de lleno a su obra. A mi me emociona ver una obra de arte, y vivir con ellas en lo cotidiano hacen mi vida más feliz. Habría que mejorar la manera en que una persona accede a su primer obra.
ArteBA: ¿qué es lo importante? ¿Qué puentes crea?
Acerca de manera directa obra, artista y un público curioso por conocer qué pasa en material de arte contemporáneo en Buenos Aires. Es un espacio excelente para generar nuevos mercados. Mucha gente va por snob, pero afortunadamente, después ve que hay todo un universo personal por descubrir y hacer tu propia colección puede ser un camino con principio y sin fin. Lo interesante de arteBA es que se constituyó en una feria tan importante dentro de la agenda y el público, que no se quedó en el mero hecho de “vender” obras, sino que promociona otro tipo de actividades mucho más conceptuales, apoya nuevos emprendimientos a través del Barrio Joven Chandón. Promociona nuevos campos de creación artística a través del Premio Petrobrás. Hizo y sigue haciendo alianzas con otras marcas para promocionar la compra de obras para acrecentar el patrimonio de los museos a nivel nacional. O sea, creó una agenda cultural.
